Esberi was sub-contracted to design & develop their existing web/kiosk application, and also engineer the middleware to communicate with their existing back-end ECM system. Using Esberi’s design & framework pattern expertise, Elba was able to roll out the the application for its different brands like Bantex, L’oblique & Favorit across Europe.
About Client
Elba Ltd , established since 1961 based in Londond, is part of the Hamelin Group the second largest office products manufacturer in Europe, and has sales and production facilities in 20 locations across Europe. The Hamelin Group is market leader in paper products, filing products, envelopes and office accessories.
Business Need & Challenges
Elba group felt the need to provide more customized products to their customers, as in today’s paper product fragmented market, Customization has become a sellable factor. The Hamelin Group has several brands launched across Europe offering paper products for Office & Home of various ranges, and product catalog for each brand is separately maintained. This made it difficult to launch a single customization solution, and again there were technical constraints so as to how would the solution be distributed, installed as kiosk, and synced up according to business region’s product catalogs.
Our Solution
After evaluating existing solution which was developed for ELba brand as Proof of Concept, Esberi worked along with its ECM technology partner Nuxeo to architect and recreate a distributable, and web deployable Flex/AIR application which supported regional localization, sync up with regional product catalogs and provided rich user experience. After getting the solution released Esberi optimized the Application Flow, in order to make the customization process more easy to understand and use.
